Sustainability
High-quality and sustainable development
Sustainability is central to both applications. The emerging proposals prioritise high-quality design, generous green open space, sustainable transport options, responsible building materials, and measurable biodiversity net gain.
Sustainable landscape
Enhancing the area for the community and local wildlife
The proposals include a significant amount of publicly accessible green space, with approximately 57% of Wexham Grange and 55% of Gallions Park retained, enhanced, and managed in perpetuity for everyone to enjoy.
- Orchards and rewilding areas to promote local food growing and biodiversity.
- Enhancement of existing habitats, hedgerows, and watercourses to deliver biodiversity net gain.
- Blue-green infrastructure to manage water sustainably and create attractive natural spaces.

Sustainable transport
A walkable and well-connected neighbourhood
We understand that transport is an important consideration for local residents. A full Transport Assessment will be undertaken, and we will work closely with Buckinghamshire Council to ensure the proposals are appropriate for the local road network.
- Walkable, cycle-friendly neighbourhoods designed to reduce reliance on private vehicles.
- Strong existing public transport connections, including the 106 bus service along Wexham Street.
- A new bus route and bus stop is proposed through Gallions Park, alongside additional services providing direct connections to Slough and via Wexham Park Hospital.
- New and improved footpaths and cycle routes throughout the site to encourage active travel.
Sustainable location
Easy access to local amenities
The sites are located in a highly sustainable area, well suited to residential development. A wide range of amenities are easily accessible, including:
- Wexham Park Hospital, located immediately to the south of the eastern site.
- GP practices.
- Secondary schools including Pioneer Secondary School (to the north) and Wexham School (to the south).
- Primary schools within the surrounding area.
This proximity to services helps reduce the need to travel long distances and supports sustainable day-to-day living.
